About IRIS IRIS is the Libraries' online catalog. It has a record for each of the items that the Rutgers University Libraries own. These include:

• books
• periodicals (journals and other serial publications)
• newspapers and magazines
• slides and video recordings
• music and musical scores and
• electronic journals and electronic books

Note: You won't find individual articles in IRIS. You'll learn how to find them by using an article index described in the next module.
